LOCATION OF CABIN FILTER: In front of the windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle under the cowl vent screen.
REMOVE ALL DEBRIS IN AND AROUND FILTER LOCATION.
Open the hood.
Using the Phillips-head screwdriver remove the two plastic screws securing the front of the cowl vent screen on the passenger side of the vehicle. It may be necessary to hold the bottom of the clips that the screws are in to keep the clips from turning with the screw.
After removing the screws squeeze in on the plastic clips and pull them out of the hole in the cowling.
Gently lift up the front edge of the passenger side cowl vent screen. It is not necessary to remove the cowl vent screen.
You should now see the filter toward the passenger side. Press down on the frame and pull forward so that it slips under the tab. If you don’t the frame won’t come out. Grasp the plastic frame that the filter is in by the top tab and pull towards the front of the vehicle and remove it.
. Remove the dirty filter from the frame and replace with the clean filter. When putting the clean filter in the frame make sure the air flow arrow printed on the filter is pointing up and that the arrow will be facing the rear of the vehicle when you reinstall the frame back in the vehicle. Also insure that the filter is installed in the frame with the flaps folded back on the filter and the folded edge inserted into the frame first. Also the last pleats of the new filter need to be over the slots in the filter frame.
You will need to again gently lift up on the front edge of the passenger side cowl and reinstall the frame into the housing on the vehicle and snap it back into place.
Reposition the cowl and align the holes in the front of the cowl and push the clips back in the holes. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver and reinstall the plastic screws back into the clips and secure them.
