LOCATION OF CABIN FILTER: On the passenger side of the vehicle behind the glove compartment behind the cabin filter access panel.
REMOVE ALL DEBRIS IN AND AROUND FILTER LOCATION.
While sitting in the passenger seat open the glove box. If the vehicle is equipped with a cabin filter there should be a label on the inside bottom panel of the glove box stating: “The air conditioning system has an air filter to eliminate dust pollen etc.” (If you are uncertain if the vehicle has a cabin filter or you would like to add a cabin filter you can continue with the procedure if the housing is present. Note: The glove box must be closed again to proceed.
Unscrew the clip that secures the glove box dampener cable to the frame. This clip is located on the right side of the dash assembly below the glove box. The base of the clip will pull out of the hole in the frame if the screw is unscrewed to about half an inch. The cable will stay connected to the clip base.Note: The clip base will tend to spin in place so you may need to hold it from behind while turning the screw.
Press inward on the sides of the glove box to disengage the stops. This will allow it to hang low enough to access the filter housing cover.
Pull the filter housing door off of the housing to access the filter.
Pull the filter frame straight out from the housing.
Remove the old filter from the frame.
Insert the new filter into the frame (flat side down). Be sure the filter is tucked under all retainer spurs along the edges.
Slide the frame back into the housing.
Snap the cover back into place. The cover has an “up” arrow to indicate the proper orientation.
Close the glove box while pressing inward on the sides to re-engage the stops.
Re-insert the dampener cable clip base into the frame. Press the screw firmly into place to lock.
